you can split the bands on the mixer too & balance them using mixer faders after applying effects ...Each band will be on its mixer channel for those who can't use patcher

Overall Patcher is amazing and powerful. Freq Splitter is good as well but also replaceable. E.g. Kick & Bass ducking can be easily controlled by Peak Controller and Fruity EQ 2; what's more, you can control more specific freq area, e.g. around 120 Hz exclusively where Kick and Bass have the most common prominent area (hypothetically), so ducking is affecting only this specific area and not the whole sub to low to low-mid range.
